When Carmi was 9 his family moved to south Tremonton, Utah - Evans Branch. He went to the Union School and later to Bear River High School.
He loved music, singing in the school choir and playing in the band. For a time while living in Salt Lake City he was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
He married his sweetheart Golda Stenquist on Sept. 14, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Most precious to him were his family and his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving in the church and cherished his 20 years in the Logan LDS Temple as an ordinance worker and sealer. He served two missions: Northern States as a young man and later, St. Louis, Mo., with his wife.
He was a farmer and a carpenter and could fix almost anything.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years and their six children, Ann (David) Moyle, Joan (Carl) Crowther, Russell H. (Pauline) Campbell, Lynn (Marta) Campbell, Dallas (Laurie) Campbell, Laurie (LD) Mason; 19 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 34 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Tremonton 3rd Ward chapel, 9590 N. 6800 West. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 E. 100 North in Tremonton, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
