Wife of Carlisle Shafer. Daughter of Anthony Blahut and Katherine Piksa, 1903 Immigrants from Austria (Poland). Dear Mother of Kenneth Shafer. Sister to Mary Blahut Carman, Anthony Blahut, Michael Blahut, and Walter Blahut Sr.

Kathryn M. Blahut Shafer, 72, of Thomas St. in Finderne, (NJ) died Saturday (March 6, 1982) at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Sonman, Cambria County, PA and lived in Finderne for the last 43 years. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Manville. She enjoyed Bingo, Cooking, Crocheting, Sewing, Gardening and Coin Collecting. Her husband, Carlisle Shafer died in 1968. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Shafer of Bridgewater, a brother, Walter Blahut of Plattsburg, NY and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Bridgewater Funeral Home with Rev. Donald J. Stager, pastor of the Finderne Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bound Brook Cemetery.
