Priscilla was the daughter of Priscilla E. Grafton and Sir John Chamberlaine, and the wife of William Donaldson who died after about ten years of marriage. Their son John W. Donaldson was a ship's carpenter, and died at sea in the West Indies which was a great sorrow to Priscilla. She received a pension of her son John's military service as John never married.

Prscilla was born in Maryland, but her family lived in Virginia as well, and by her letters moved back and forth at will, so probably lived on a plantation during the summer. Priscilla was related to Lord Brian Fairfax. Brian Fairfax's second wife was Jane Donaldson, mentioned in George Washington's diaries as Jane and her brother John Donaldson having dinner with him. When Priscilla was a child she rode in a carriage with retired president George Washington, and eventually she married the nephew of Lady Jane Fairfax, William Donaldson, son of John Donaldson of Loudoun, Virginia.

Priscilla and William's only child who had children was Harriott Donaldson Rowles, wife of Captain Joshua Jennings Rowles who was in the Navy, and a pirate chaser. Harriot's son William D. Rowles of Sarpy Co., Nebraska was a Nebraska Legislator. His grave is Wm. D. Rowles buried behind and to the left of Priscilla's grave. Priscilla lived out the latter years of her life in the home of her granddaughter Frances E. Rowles Daley Bosteder in Hugo, Colorado, where I last saw her as she was bed-ridden.

Priscilla was the grandmother of radio and movie actress Gwen Delano whose birth name was Gwen Delaney, daughter of Frances Priscilla Daley and Henry Arthur Delaney. Priscilla handed down the family history through Frances' son John D. Daley whose grave is behind the right side of Priscilla's stone. Next to W. D. Rowles grave is his son Charles Rowles, a soldier who never married.

According to the 1860 census for Bellevue, Priscilla, aged 88, was born in Maryland. She was living with her widowed granddaughter, Francis E. Daley, age 40 and Francis' children: John D. Daley, age 15, Lucretia E., aged 13, Samuel, age 8, and F. P., age 6. Francis and her children were all born in Maryland.

Cemetery records list a Samuel W. Donaldson buried very near Priscilla, (Block 5, Lot 3, Space 3), but there is no visible marker for him. The records do not list any dates for him either.
