Ralph M. Boydston, age 88, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at a Topeka care home. He was born September 18, 1924 in Holton, KS the son of Ralph Boydston and Ethel Thomas Boydston. Ralph met his wife, Agonia M. Koci while playing basketball at the Oakland Grade school gym. They were married December 3, 1954. She preceded him in death February 28, 2006. Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in W.W. II where he was stationed in Great Canole, Philippines and Japan where he was a truck driver and then a cook. Ralph worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Bob s Tavern, the V.A. Hospital, Shawnee Beer Sales, Eckord, and then Capital Distribution. He moved to Manhattan in 1972 and managed B&B Distributing (formerly J.H. Saip Beverage). In 1979, they moved back to Topeka where he was the office manager for Capital Distributing. Ralph is survived by a son, Ralph Boydston Jr. of Manhattan; Two stepsons, Marvin Vawter of Ft. Worth, Texas and Ron Vawter of Topeka; 5 grandchildren; Christopher Boydston, Lisa Duncan, Barrett Vawter, Brandt Vawter, and Gretchen Brandt, 4 great grandchildren and his special companion, Sally Boydston. Funeral services will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 6:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
