Robert Gene VanDeventer 81, of Noblesville, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at his residence.

Born April 14, 1931 in Bloomington, he was the son of Erza and Violet (Loveall) VanDeventer.

He served his country in the United States Army and retired from GMAC as a financial services manager.

Surviving relatives include: his wife Karen whom he married May 28, 1977; four daughters, Cheryl Godfrey, Michelle Casey, Valerie Greene and Vicki Bottenfield all of California; two sisters, Betty Clayton of Paris, Illinois and Barbara Rolland of Nevada; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Calvertville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
