ALEXANDER S. EASTLICK
Mercer relatives have received announcement of the death of Alexander S. Eastlick, which accurred (sic) at his home in McPherson, Kansas, two weeks ago. He was born in Mercer county August 10, 1826, but in his early youth moved with his parents to Indiana, where he resided until after his marriage to Miss Katherine Munger in 1852. He then moved to Illinois and nineteen years later to Kansas. He was a veteran of the Civil war, serving in the 148th regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and received wounds from which he suffered the remainder of his life. He was a man of excellent character, a good citizen and took a deep interest in affairs, especially in educational and religious work. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sisters, all residing in the West.
