Frederick Algernon Newsom, 73, died Friday October 14, 1994 at Caldwell County Hospital after a long illness.
Born May 9, 1921 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Wilbur J Newsom and Mary Elizabeth Miller Newsom. He was a retired farmer, a retired correctional officer at Ky. State Penitentiary, a member of Cross Roads Christian Church and a war veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Eli Newsom.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Newsom; one son, Sammy Newsom; two grandsons; one step-son; two step granddaughters; one brother, Larue Newsom; three sisters, Maureen Ladd, Laverne Gore and Nova Lee Scott.
Burial will follow in Cross Roads Cemetery.
