Mamie E. Wright, 85, of Greensburg, died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Metcalfe County Nursing Home in Edmonton, Ky. Daughter of the late William G. Oaks and Sarah Catherine Wright, she was born on Feb. 15, 1917 in Green County and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was married to the Rev. Charles Bradley Wright on Feb. 3, 1923. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1975. Survivors include one daughter, Beatrice Irene Loyall of Greensburg; three sons, Robert Sylvester Wright of Campbellsville, the Rev. Herbert Lester Wright of Greensburg, and Randall Lee Wright; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Four sisters and one brother, Mary Gentry, Jane Noe, Ara Moran, Evelyn Chaudoin and Porter Lonzo Wright also preceded her in death. Funeral was at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Macedonia Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Downey officiated. Pallbearers were Tommy Wright, Bobby Wright, Adam Rainwater, Larry Loyall, Aaron Rainwater and Chad Sweet.
