Mrs. SARAH GROSS, the wife of Uriah Gross, died suddenly Thursday night at her home in Sharpsburg, aged 64 years. She was in apparently excellent health up until her death and during Thursday evening made no complaint, but talked of going on a picnic today. The family retired and left her in the sitting room along. Shortly afterwards she began to feel sick and called. Her daughter Ella, in the next room answered quickly and noticing that she was ill, fanned her while others ran for the doctor. He came in a few moments and laid Mrs. Gross on the bed, where she almost immediately expired. The physician pronounced her trouble to be heart disease.

Mrs. Gross was the daughter of Thomas Poffenberger. She was an active and consistent member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg. She was well known and esteemed by her many friends.

She leaves her husband and the following children: George and Everett, in California; Josephus, near Keedysville; Mrs. Etta Mades, Keedysville; Martin, Sharpsburg; Ella, Charles, Herbert and Ernest, at home.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Memorial Church; interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
