Mrs. Orilla A ADAMS, one of Riverhead's oldest and highly respected residents died at the Southampton Hospital on Saturday, Aug 3. She had been in failing health for sometime. For many years Mrs Adams had resided at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs William A Terry, 824 West Main Street Riverhead. She was the daughter of the late Joshua Caleb and Mary Ann (Jennings) Young. She was born in Aquebogue and had resided in this section all her life. She was the widow of Benjamin F Adams, a well known resident of Riverhead who died 23 years ago. Surviving are two daughers, Mrs Olinda TERRY of Riverhead and Mrs. Blanche ZAHNLE of North Arlington, NJ, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, Aug 5, at Reginald H Tuthill's Funeral home with the Rev George Tubbs, pastor of the Riverhead Gospel Tabernacle. Interment was in the Riverhead cemetery. Mrs Adams had been a member of the First Congregational Church of Riverhead during the long period of years she had been a reaident in this village and prior thereto had been a member of the Congregational Church at Aquebogue.
