Rose Sharon McLean Henderson Gigout, of Mount Belvieu, Tx, past away at her home surrounded by her family and friends, on Sunday, November 17, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Sharon was born on September 18, 1939, in Baytown, Texas and grew up in Lynchburg. She graduated from Deer Park High School and married her high school sweetheart, John D. Henderson and was married for 42 years. They raised their three children in North Shore and then retired and moved to Hankamer, Texas. During her early years, she worked for the City of Houston as the secretary to Mayor Lewis Cutrer and then spent the rest of her life as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Greens Bayou Assembly of God church for many years and taught children's Sunday school, that she dearly loved.

After the love of her life passed away, she found love once again and married Lloyd Gigout. She was a member of Mont Belvieu Assembly of God church, where she also taught children's Sunday school.

Sharon's passions in life were her church, family, and friends. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at the age of 14 years old, in Baytown, by the late Reverend John Osteen. She was known as one of the sweetest people you could ever know and she loved unconditionally. Many knew her as Sharon, sometimes as Rose Sharon or just simply "Rose", which identifies the beauty of her internally and externally. The ones that knew her best -- family and friends -- called her "Mammaw".

She is preceeded in death by her parents The Reverend Lloyd "Woody" W. McLean and Ruth E. McLean, her first husband John D. Henderson, and her sister, Roslyn Kay McLean.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Husband, Lloyd Gigout of Mount Belvieu, Children, Russell Henderson and wife Linda of Baytown, Lori Graham and husband Robert of Baytown, and Rex Henderson and wife Becky of Houston. 9 Grandchildren, Daniel Henderson, and wife Emily of Channelview, Christy Myres and husband Tim of Mount Belvieu, Jordan Henderson of Corpus Christi, Kara Marler and husband Patrick of Highlands, Kelton Graham of Baytown, Joshua, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Samuel Henderson of Houston. 6 Great-grandchildren Megan and Brooke Henderson, Morgan and Carson Myres, Gavin and Azlan Henderson and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, and friends. Step-sons, Mike Gigout and wife Jennifer of Smithsville, Donnie Gigout and wife Bettye Jo of Baytown, step-daughters, Linda Kay Walker and husband James of Deer Park, Pam Buras and husband Barry of Dayton. 10 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, November 19 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Greens Bayou Asssembly of God Church (Spirit of Life Ministries) in Houston. Funeral services will be at Greens Bayou Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, November 20 at 10 am with Reverend J.P. Granberry and Reverend Mike Allard officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Henderson, Frank Henderson, Jack Henderson, Jack Sorensen, Bobby Welborn, and Jerry Taylor.
