Ruth E. Forry, 88, of Mount Joy, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin W. and Minnie (Hoffer) Smith. Ruth was the wife of the late Albert R. Forry who died in October of 2002.

Ruth was a homemaker raising 6 children. She also worked for the family business, Forry's Texaco Service, and most recently the Manheim Auto Auction. Ruth was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time at the Susquehanna River, listening to talk radio, and was an avid reader. Most of all Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by 6 children, Donald R. Forry husband of Vickie Frey of Mount Joy, Edward E. Forry husband of Mary Ann Ketterer of Townsend, DE, Cynthia R. Forry of Mount Joy, Alberta F. Kauffman wife of Wayne of Mount Joy, James H. Forry of Manheim, and Jeffrey L. Forry of Norfolk, VA. Thirteen grandchildren. Many great grandchildren. A great great grandchild. Five brothers, Hoffer Smith, Gene Smith husband of Silvia, James Smith, Robert Smith, and Wayne Smith. Also surviving are three sisters, Darlene Lamberson, Helen Rhoads, and Shirley Morrison.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lorraine Heisey, Anna May and Esther Fern Smith, and two brothers, Jay and Benjamin Smith.

A Memorial Service honoring Ruth's Life will be held at Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, 713 Church St., Mount Joy on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 6 P.M. Family and friends will be received at the Church before the service from 5 P.M.-6 P.M. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
