About a week before his departure he became ill. Although his condition did not appear serious at first it took a sudden turn for the worse and on Saturday, August 6, he was rushed to the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings. Shortly afterwards he went into a coma from which he did not recover. He slept away into the arms of Jesus on Sunday evening, August 7th.
He leaves to mourn his sudden and untimely passing his parents, four brothers, Donald of Lincoln, Lavern, in the United States Army, Harold and Roger at home; three sisters, Marjorie, Joyce and Connie, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alloway of Harrisburg, Ore. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 10 at 2:00 P.M. The minister officiating was the Rev. David Kreitzer of Hastings, Nebr. He was laid to rest in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Deshler, Nebr.
