Graveside services and burial for John Carlisle Boling, 71, of Farmerville will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Rocky Branch Cemetery with Bro. Paul Carter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Boling was born June 2, 1941 in Mangham, Oklahoma. He died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home in Farmerville, Louisiana. He was the son of Floyd Boling and Inez Maddox. John's wife and guardian angel, Carol, took wonderful care of him as he fought a long term illness.
He was drafted into the Army in which he fought in Vietnam from 1962-1964. He fought as a Sharpshooter (M-1 Rifle) and was released with an Honorable Discharge. John then married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Hall on May 8, 1965 in Borger, Texas. They were married for 47 years. John and Carol made their home in Amarillo, Texas and had 4 daughters: Tina Marie in 1967, Robin Deniece in 1968, Dodi Lynn in 1971 and they adopted a beautiful baby girl, Megan Shay in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd Boling and Inez Long; his youngest brother: Larry Wayne Boling; two brothers-in-law: Buddy West & Lucky Wyatt; sister-in-law: Wilma Wyatt; one niece: Rhonda Trevino; and his beautiful paternal grandmother Roda "Ellen" Frad (Granny Boling) who raised him and passed away in 1977; his stepmother-in-law: Ruth Hall in 2010; and his father-in-law Carl Hall in 2011. John thought more of Carl as a father than his birth father. John and Carol took care of Carl and Ruth until their passing.
Survivors are his wife Carol and daughter, Megan; daughter Tina Akins & husband, Billy; daughter Robin Dodd & husband, Albert; daughter Dodi Eubanks & husband, Paul; grandchildren: Matthew Brown of Plano, TX; Nicholas & Dawn Brown of Farmerville, LA; Jonathan Brown of College Station, TX; Kimberly & Stephen Drake of Granbury, TX; Jeff & Lindsay Akins of Shewnee, OK; Misty & Matt Wagnon of Amarillo, TX; Phillip Akins of Granbury, TX; Brandon Dodd, Amber Dodd, Cody & Holly Dodd, Candace Dodd, Tyler Eubanks and Heath Eubanks, all of Farmerville, LA; 2 great-grandsons: Vincent Aaron Brown, son of Nicholas & Dawn Brown; and Gavin Lucas Akins, son of Jeff & Lindsay Akins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matthew Brown, Nicholas Brown, Jonathan Brown, Stephen Drake, Jeffery Akins, Phillip Akins, Brandon Dodd and Cody Dodd.
