About 1875 Henry married Margaret A. Swindel (or Swindells) native of
MA, whose father died when she was young and after her mother, Susannah, married Richard Lightfoot.
They had four children:
(1) Guy Louis Hiestand (1876-1946) who married Mary Ryan;
(2) Wyotta M. Hiestand (1879-1961) who married first Howard Mumford and second John Hunt;
(3) Floyd Henry Hiestand (1883-1917)
(4) Florence Ruby Hiestand (1890-1953) who married Frank Pearsaul.

The family moved from IL and were in Dickinson County, KS for the 1880 census. Their fourth child was born in Iowa. By 1900 they had moved east to MI and settled in Van Buren County.
