Vesta I. Woodward, 94, of Eliza, Ill., died Sunday Nov. 13, 2005, at her home.

The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in Eliza Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Eliza Creek Cemetery or the Eliza Community Church. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 11, 1911, in Lemons, Mo. a daughter of Claude and Sarah Jackson Smith. She attended the local schools and marred Charles Woodward on April 10, 1935, in Rock Island, Ill. He died in 1975.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Eliza Community Church

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Ronald Martin of Eliza; Charlotte and Wilbur Bogart of Taylor Ridge, Ill.; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Nancy Woodward of Eliza; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ziegenhorn of Eliza and two brothers, Robert Smith of Davis, Ill., and Wayne Smith of Alpha, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four grandchildren and two brothers.
