After moving to Seattle in 1949 when her husband Clayton got a job at Boeing, she remembered her first job in 1930 with a Boston accounting firm and was proud of her accurate speedy typing. Her Catholic faith was an important aspect of her life and she was a longtime guild member at Blessed Sacrament, Assumption, and Lady of the Lake parishes in Seattle. Throughout her life, she was quite active from High School ice-skating, soccer, and field hockey to swimming a mile a day in her 70s. She walked fast all her life only slowing down the last few years. Among the many lasting memories of her for her family was her love of gardening, travel, and music. Gardening was her daily exercise for decades. She traveled around the world in her 70s, in 2000 at 88 she went to East Africa and the next year to China. Her most beloved travel was to Hawaii where she returned many times to Kauai, Maui, The Big Island, and Oahu. She loved to dance, often singing her favorite songs while working around her home.
