Andrew I. Casano of Lebanon, NH. formerly of Dorchester, and Randolph, MA. passed away October 1, 2012 at the age of 91. Mr. Casano was born in Dorchester, graduated from Boston English High in 1940, he lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Randolph in 1953. He was a machinist for Fabreeka Products of Dorchester and Stoughton for 41 years. For the past 6 years he has been living with his son Richard in NH. During WWII he served in the US Navy as a Aviation Machinist Mate PO 3rd Class Aboard the USS Salamua CVE96. He was in Tokyo Bay for the signing of the Japanese surrender, then his ship joined the Magic Carpet fleet returning soldiers home to the US. He was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star, American Theater Medal, Naval Combat Action Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal and Cold War Victory Citation and was a member of the Randolph D.A.V. Post #39 Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Duffy) Casano. Loving father of Richard A. Casano and his wife Janet (Hunter) of Lebanon, NH, Stephen F. Casano of Wareham and Paul R. Casano of Randolph. Devoted brother of Maryanne Dutzak of Hanson, William Casano of Pembroke and the late Katherine Burke. Dear grandfather of Andrea Acres and her husband Matt of Torrence, CA, Theresa Grow and her husband Frank of Barnstead, NH, Richard F. Casano and his Fiance Michelle Grimes of Enfield, NH, Jason Casano of Quincy, Justin Casano of Brockton, Joshua Casano of Taunton, Jessica Rideout and Jeffery Rideout both of Wareham, Elizabeth Casano of Stoughton. Great grandfather of Isabel Acres, Laine Acres, Milo Acres, and Lillian Acres all of CA and Spencer Grow of NH. Also uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews. . Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral home, 419 N. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph until 8:00 AM Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Bernadette Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
