Funeral of Mrs. J. A. Milligan
The funeral services over the remains of the late Mrs. J. A. Milligan will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Presbyterian church, and Rev. J. M. McElroy, who was the pastor of the deceased 45 years ago, will conduct the services. The remains will be interred in the Ottumwa cemetery. The deceased was one of the early residents of Ottumwa and lived here until two years ago, when she moved to Duluth, Minn. to make her home with her son, Alfred Milligan. Six children survive – Mrs. Jennie Flanders, Mrs. Ollie Knight, and Fred Milligan of Bayfield, Wis.; Alfred Milligan of Duluth, Minn.; Harry Milligan of Knoxville, and L. F. Milligan of Hiteman. The three latter are in the city to attend the funeral. The remains will be brought to this city tonight on Burlington No. 11 and will be taken to the Daggett undertaking parlors on West Second street, where they can be viewed by the old friends of the deceased. The pall bearers will be Messrs. L. W. Kilby, B. J. Boulton, John L. Moore, W. J. Bayliss, John Gephart, and A.W. Buchanan (Ottumwa Daily Courier, 18 Apr 1903).
