The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Friday, September 4, 1981: Herman E. Helton, 57, of 203 Hurricane Creek Road, Gurley, died Thursday at Huntsville Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. O. R. Gregg and the Rev. Ken Teal officiating. Burial will be in Bellview Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sadie M. Helton; three sons, Tommy Wayne Helton and Sammy Helton, both of Gurley, and Bobby A. Helton of Guntersville; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Franklin of New Market; and five grandchildren.
