Alfornia Elizabeth Atkins, 68, of East Palatka, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at her home in East Palatka.
She was a native of Olar, S.C., and had lived in East Palatka for a number of years. She was educated and graduated from high school in Bamburg, S.C. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God by Faith in East Palatka.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome and Warren Atkins and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels Sr.; husband, George Amos.
She leaves to cheriah her memory her sons, Jerald and John Eric Atkins, Kenneth (Jimmie) Amos, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., George (Melissa) Amos of New Jersey; daughters, Laura Amos of New York, Vanessa (Randy) McEntire of North Carolina and Kenya Amos of East Palatka; sisters, Totsie Aries, Loutisha Kelley and Loretta Peacock, all of Palatka, Martha Daniels of New York; brothers, Arnell Daniels of Palatka, John Edwards Daniels Jr. (O'Gretta) Daniels of East Palatka, George (Merlene) Daniels of Palatka; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2000, at the Church of God by Faith with Elder Otis Howard Sr. officiating. Interment at Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at E. W. Larson and Son Chapel and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
