Mr Jack W. Howser 89 of Jefferson City died Sunday October 6, 2012 at St Mary's Health Center.

Jack was born November 11, 1922 in Carney Oklahoma, the son od Oliver C. and Emma Kielman Howser. He was married in October 25, 1943 in Linn Mo. to Annabell M. Achilles.

A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Jack was a 1940 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific being discharged as a Sergeant.

Jack was employed with the Jefferson City Post Office from 1960 until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of the Central United Church of Christ, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wyman Basinger Post 35, the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5, the Disabled American Veterans, Oliver Buehrle Post 17 and of the American Post Workers Union .

Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing and was active in G&CICA.

Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty nine years, Annabell Howser, two sons, William E. Howser and wife Elizabeth of Jefferson City, and Russell A. Howser and wife Marlene of Fulton Mo. one daughter, Maribeth M. Muhonen of Colorado Springs Colorado. Eleven grandchildren, Rachel Foster, Jessie Goff, Abigail Lage, Nicholas Howser, Eric Howser, Scott Howser, Adam Howser, Roberta McLaren, Leroy McLaren, Mason Muhonen and Marisa Muhonen, and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Oliver Howser, Blueford Howser, Victor Howser and Vernon Howser and one sister Edna Vieth.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10-11a.m. Friday October 12, 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Friday October 12, 2012 in the Freeman Chapel with the Rev. Larry Gallamore officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association.
