Seven of the original ten members of the first band organized in Fulton after the Civil War

The Fulton Sun-1888:

For over 100 years a French Second Empire has joined the many other older homes on West 7th Street in forming one of Fulton's larger historic residential areas.

In 1884 resident C.A. Patton contracted for the construction of the home at 314 West Seventh Street.

The home is featured this month as the recipient of the Fulton Heritage Trust Award. Through the years the home has been re-wired and new ceiling installed. The front staircase has been turned around and a bathroom was moved and another one added.

The home left the Patton family in 1974.

Patton owned Patton's Book Store which was located at 519 Court Street in 1907.

W. Williams, wife and son, L.T. Meader, wife and son, Charles A. Patton and others whose names we did not learn are camping at the Springs. They all seem to enjoy camp life and are looking healthy.

Death Certificate#461:

Charles Alfred Patton, 81, of Fulton, died at 11:40am on January 14, 1919 at his home.

Dr. D.H. Young, of Fulton, pronounced death caused by Myocardia contributed to by Arteriosclerosis. The informant was Miss Grace Patton, daughter of the deceased.

Mr. Patton was born September 23, 1847, in Missouri, the son of Thomas and Amanda (Duncan) Patton, both born in Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Laura Myers and she survives. Mr. Patton was a merchant.

Arrangements were under the care of Herndon-Taylor Furniture Company in Fulton. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
