Sister Catherine Marie Feider, 83, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning at the convent. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Paul Feider, nephew and the concelebrant will be Rev. Robert Reppen, O.Praem. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born July 24, 1907 in Decada, WI. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Bichler Feider. The former Loretta Feider entered the convent in 1926, professing her vows in 1929. Sister earned a MA Degree from Holy Family Convent, Manitwooc and a MA degree from Creighton University, Omaha, NE. Sister taught elementary grades at Greenleaf and Sturgeon Bay, WI and West Point, NE. She also taught high school at Delaware, OH, West Point and Lindsay, NE, Petoskey, MI, and was Vice Principal at Xavier High School, Appleton, WI. From 1972 to 1985 she was the community Secretary at Holy Family Convent.
Survivors include the Franciscian Sisters of Christian Charity; three sisters, Sister Mary Victima Feider OSF of Manitowoc, Mrs. Anna Huiras of Fredonia, WI and Mrs. Josephine Terens of Sheboygan, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home assisted with funeral arrangements.
