He was born Oct. 21, 1907 in Potsdam, son of George and Lillie Newton Pelsue. Educated in Potsdam and Norwood schools, he was engaged in farming most of his life and was also employed at GLF Cooperative Feeds, Potsdam and Community Ice Cream Co of Potsdam.
He married Pearl Hicks June 30, 1938 in Massena. They have always lived at the Pelsue homestead on Fuller Road, where he was born. Mr. Pelsue was a member of the West Stockholm United Methodist Church and a 25-year member of Winthrop Grange.
A sister, Miss Marion Pelsue, a retired teacher, died Dec. 7, 1972, and another sister, Mrs. H. Lawrence (Mildred) Phippen died in 1965 He is survived by his wife Mrs. Pearl Pelsue; two sons, Edson J. of Hapeville, GA, and Jay W., of Rochester; two daughters, Mrs. James (Jo Ann) Adams. Potsdam and Mrs. Gary (Penny) Hutchinson, Rochester; eight grandchildren; a brother, Newton, Fuller Road, Potsdam; and a sister, Mrs. Glen (Luthera) Floyd, Columbus, GA.
