David K. Klinedinst

(March 2, 1940 - July 5, 2017)

Springettsbury Township, David K. Klinedinst, 77, went to be with the Lord at 4:37 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Bonita L. (Dietz) Klinedinst.

Dave was born on March 2, 1940, in York, a son of the late Ralph E. and Fairy F. (Stough) Klinedinst. He graduated in 1958 from Spring Grove High School and was a member of the Future Farmers of America.

Mr. Klinedinst retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked for more than 21 years. He had also worked at New York Wire Cloth Company, Teledyne McKay Chain, and he was a truck driver for R & R Components, Inc., York PB Truss, Inc., McCrory Stores, and A&S Kinard Trucking and Logistics. Dave was a motorcycle rider for over 54 years and was also an avid fisherman, receiving several citations from the State of Delaware. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of 32 years,

Mr. Klinedinst is survived by three children, David K. Klinedinst, Jr. and his wife, Sheryl of Chesapeake, VA, Johnathan M. Klinedinst of Hanover, and Faith I. Stambaugh and her husband, David of York; two step-children, Lora J. Stoeckl of Washington, and Scott E. Smith of Myerstown; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Myers, Carl Ferree, and Paul Hoke; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Portia Crone Klinedinst, who passed away in 1984; and a half-sister, Gladys Ness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church, 4190 Susquehanna Trail, York, with his Pastor, Pastor Bill Schutt, officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Jacob's Union Cemetery in York New Salem. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 E. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
