Delestine Winters McKinney, 79, Perkins Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an
extended illness.
Mrs. McKinney was a native of Elk Park, N.C., and the daughter of the late Corbett Winters and Nina Greene Parish. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Charlie Howard McKinney.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with the
Rev. John Stevens and the Rev. Keith Gwyn officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Melody Trio. The family will receive friends at the Rhododendron Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.
Friends may also call at the home of a son, the Rev. Jeff McKinney, 104 Ellis Hollow Road, Roan Mountain. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, at Richardson (Morgan Branch Church) Cemetery in Roan Mountain.
