THIS IS A MEMORIAL ONLY. ALICE WAS CREMATED AS PER INFO FROM HER MOTHER.Alice was born February 21, 1950 in Donalsonville, Georgia, the daughter of Robert and Velma Miller. She began school in Donalsonville, but moved with her family to Mineral Wells, Texas, December 5, 1956. Shortly after arriving in Mineral Wells, Alice was sponsored as Miss Mineral Wells in a beauty contest in 1957 and won runner-up; unusual since she was a "newcomer" to this small town. Alice was a cheerleader in junior high and graduated in 1968.
Upon graduation in 1968, Alice enrolled in Dallas Fashion Merchandising School, and upon graduation, was employed by Sears where she met and married Kenneth Frank Riley.

Shortly thereafter, they moved to Ennis, Texas, to become a partner in the family business of Riley's Industrial. Ken and Alice have two children, both born in Ennis: Jessica Riley Tucker and Kenneth Frank Riley.

In 1980 Ken, Alice and children moved to El Paso, Texas, to start a new family business. In 1989 they moved back to Ennis to be closer to family.

Alice started another career in the Ennis Museum, working there for three years followed by employment with the Water Department of Ennis until her death.

Alice is survived by her husband, Kenneth Frank Riley; son, Kenneth Frank Riley, and his wife, Deena Riley, of Ennis; daughter, Jessica Riley Tucker and her husband, Kevin Tucker, of Arlington; seven beloved grandchildren: Monique, Ashleigh and Krista Mejarado, Ava, Luke, Olivia Riley and Garrett Riley Tucker; her mother, Velma Miller James, and her step-father, Robert James, of Fort Worth; one stepson, Kelly Riley, and his wife, Tiffany Riley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert L. Miller, her father, Robert E. Miller, and grandson, Jonah Riley.

Alice was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis, Texas.
