Mr. Watkins, 94, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Leake County near Madden, but grew up in the Dixon community of Neshoba County where he resided most of his life. He was a retired cattle farmer. Mr. Watkins was a member of Pine Grove Church of God at Dixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was a member of VFW and DAV.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mazell Watkins of Meridian; nephew, Billy Land and his wife, Gail of Philadelphia; niece, Alinda Ritchie and her husband, Jim of Meridian; great niece, Kathy Ross; great-great-niece, Michelle Carlton; great-great-great-nephew, Kaleb Carlton; and great-great-great-niece, Brooklee Carlton.

Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Edna Luby Watkins; sisters, Aletha Watkins Land and Joyce Watkins Trapp; and brother, Brooks Watkins.
