A coroner's inquest was held with the following witnesses: her husband Edward Hjerpe; the attending doctor, Robert A Pointon; and Tom Pappas, a man who rushed to her aid after the fall. Her death certificate does not mention the fall and lists as cause of death lobar pneumonia complicated by organic heart disease.

Lizzie was 5'7", 166 pounds, no children, married 3 yrs next Feb. Edward's mother lives nearby.
