Alice Lucile, daughter of Nelson W. and Ideila Watson Adams, was born at Olena, Ill., November 22, 1882. She came with her parents to Milton, Iowa, and graduated from the high school there. She was married August 22, 1905 to John McKibben Reed. To them were born five children: John Paul, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Helen Reed Bingham, Sac City, Iowa; Alice Maurine; Robert Neil; and Erma Ruth, at home. Beside the husband and children she is survived by two brothers, Charles W. Adams, Los Angeles, Calif; Luther L. Adams, Kansas City, Mo; three sisters, Mrs. H. E. Craver, Bloomfield, Iowa; Mrs J. Johnson and Miss Erma Adams, Alden, Iowa. She was converted early in life and became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. During the years she has lived in Cincinnati she has been active in every good work connected with the church here. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars and the Woman's Relief Corps. Sister Reed suffered a complete physical break down in her health on Thanksgiving day. She was courageous and patient, very optimistic in her hopes of recovery. Every possible aid was given to assist in her recovery. She gradually weakened and came peacefully to her end at 2:30 p.m. Mar. 16, 1931. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. J. Hamilton, from the M.E. church in Cincinnati. Burial was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery, where the ladies of the O. E. S. had charge of the services.
