Obituary published in The Ludowici News. Mrs. Janie Shaw Passes Away. Mrs. Janie Shaw, widow of the late Robert W. Shaw, died Sunday afternoon at her home in the Elim community after an extended illness of Pellagra which reached a critical stage several weeks ago. Mrs. Shaw who was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George R. Herbert was 49 years of age. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church and a woman of quiet and christian character who will be missed in her community. The funeral and interrment took place at Elim Monday afternoon, the Rev. T. W. Callaway of Central Baptist church, Waycross, conducted the rites. The pallbearers were J. H. Barrett, O. A. Irwin, E. A. Moran, Ben Way, R. S. Gordon and Irwin. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. John Faulker of Hinesville and Misses Rita and Marjorie Shaw of Ludowici, and two sons, George Shaw of Waycross and Arnold Shaw of Ludowici, one sister, Mrs. Ripley Hodges and four brothers, M. A. and Frank Herbert of Ludowici, Ewell Herbert of Eustis, FL, and Henry Herbert of Walthourville.
