Joseph Edward Bol, 70, died Aug. 24, 1986, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis. A native and life resident of the Lafayette community, he married Evalyn Catherine Hilt on April 13, 1941; she died in 1974. Mr. Bol had been a welder at People's Welding and Brown Rubber Co. A World War II Navy veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater.

Surviving are a son, Larry J. Bol of Smyrna, GA; a brother, Raymond Bol of Lebanon; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Seng of Lafayette. Service Aug. 27 in Hippensteel Chapel, Rev. James E. Chase officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military rites by American Legion Post 11. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Young.
