The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Humphrey, with Fr. John Andrews celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cornlea. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, in Lincoln, with Deacon Andy Kresha conducting the service.
Marsha Rose Gilsdorf was born April 10, 1939, in Madison, to Joe and Rose (Brandl) Gilsdorf. Marsha grew up in Cornlea and graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School in Humphrey in 1957. She attended and graduated from Pierre School of Nursing in Pierre, S.D.
Marsha worked for a couple hospitals before taking a job with the VA Hospital in Lincoln. She continued to work for the VA for 47 years at both the hospital and the VA clinic after the hospital closed. Marsha enjoyed going to garage sales and finding the best deals at department stores. She was always giving gifts to her family and friends and also enjoyed going to spiritual conferences.
Marsha is survived by her sister, Jeanette Warth, of Tulia, Texas; brother, Percy Gilsdorf, of Madison; brother, Gary Gilsdorf, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Rose Gilsdorf; brothers, Marvin, Ervin, Harvey, and Mark Gilsdorf; and sister, Cleo Mae Wiese.
