Bar Harbor D. Ann Bruce, died January 31, 2019 in Bar Harbor. She was born June 2, 1939 in Harrisburg, Virginia the daughter of G. Gordon and Dorothy J. (Hobbs) Bruce.

Ann received her BS in Foods and Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Iowa. Ann was a member of the American Diabetes Association, Iowa Diabetes Association, Iowa City Diabetes Association and the American Association of University Women where she served two terms as Treasurer. Ann lived in Iowa City, Iowa and worked as a Clinical Dietitian at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic for a number of years before retiring and moving back to her home on Mt. Desert Island. She was a devoted member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Holy Redeemer Altar Guild, of Bar Harbor.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother R. Gordon Bruce.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am, Friday, June 7, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 56 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.

Those who desire may make contributions in her memory to the Department of Medieval Studies at the University of Cambridge at the address: Cambridge in America, P.O. Box 9123 JAF BLG, New York, NY 10087-9123.
