Roberta V. Davies, age 95, of Independence, Kansas died Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Gansel House in Independence, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Epiphany Episcopal Church with the Reverend Gerald Eytcheson officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the Epiphany Episcopal Church or the Gansel House and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Roberta was born May 19, 1917 in Douglas, Kansas to Idris L. and Jessie May (Clay) Davies. She grew up in Douglas, Kansas and graduated from the Douglas High School. Roberta then received her bachelor's degree in music education from Emporia State University. She then received her master's degree from Wichita State University. Roberta was a music teacher for Madison and Iola before moving to Independence, Kansas in 1948. Roberta taugh music in Independence, Kansas at the Junior High and the High School until her retirement in the late 1970's. She was a member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, St. Martha's Guild, Monday Music Club, Friday Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Mercy Hospital Auxillary. Roberta was the organist for the Epiphany Episcopal Church for over 50 years.

There are no immediate survivors, but she is survived by some cousins and great friends.
