Knier, Ambrose (Dec. 7, 1877-July 18, 1959 –husband of Anna Schad [1886-1956] –married Sept. 22, 1908 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton –son of Wenzel Knier and Margaret Heller –born Town of Eaton –carpenter and farmer –after his marriage moved to Aniwa, Shawano County for four years, then back to St. Nazianz, where Ambrose was employed as a carpenter –from Feb. 13, 1913 to Nov. 20, 1917 owned the 80 acre farm at 10402 County A in Section 1, Town of Schleswig –on April 7, 1927 purchased the house at 205 East Birch Street in St. Nazianz –lived here until selling on Aug. 10, 1957, which was just before Anna’s death from cancer on Dec. 13, 1956 –died from “coronary thrombosis –hypertension –diabetes”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 3, Row 6, Lot 31 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 9-228] [death record Manitowoc 53-308]

AMBROSE KNIER, 81, died unexpectedly Saturday after suffering a heart attack at the home of his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. John Koerber in the Town of Centerville.
He was a retired farmer and carpenter who had made his home with the Koerbers since 1956.
He was born Dec. 7, 1877 in the Town of Eaton, the son of Wenzel and Margaret Knier. He married Anna Schad at St. Nazianz Sept. 22, 1908 and they made their home there from then until the death of Mrs. Knier in 1956.
He was a member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church and the parish's Holy Name Society.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Eleanor) Koerber of the Town of Centerville and Mrs. Albert (Helen) Wiedemann of Sheboygan, and one son, Joseph of Batavia, and nine grandchildren.
He also is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Mary Ebanhoe of Black Earth, Mrs. Margaret Schad of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Joseph Tiener of Manitowoc and Mrs. Louis Manlick of Arpin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Stoltenberg funeral Chapels in Cleveland Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and at the St. Wendel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. The Rev. Leo Ott will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Gregory Cemetery at St. Nazianz.
