Alice A. Ange, Oct. 3, 1915 - Sept. 30, 2011, resident of San Jose, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter, Marci Miller of Fair Oaks, CA. Alice was born the 3rd of 4 children to Iva and Ed Dail in Fulton, KS. She earned her BA degree in Art Education from Pittsburg State University where she belonged to Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Alice taught 4 years in Coffeyville, KS. before marrying her beloved husband in 1941 and moving to San Jose, CA where they began Ange's Variety Store in Willow Glen on Lincoln Avenue next to Bergman's. In 1948, two Ange's Men's and Women's Stores were opened in Cupertino where they worked side by side for 38 years until their retirement. Devoted to each other for 52 wonderful years of marriage, V.G. preceded Alice in death in 1994. She spoke of him daily, remembering their devoted employees, travel and holidays with friends, the Lions Clubs of Cupertino and Willow Glen and much family time spent hunting, fishing, singing, playing and working together. She is survived by her daughter, Marci, beloved granddaughter, Marissa Miller of Sausalito, CA, along with sister-in-law B.J. Dail of Santa Fe, NM, and nieces and nephews in California, New Mexico, Massachusetts and Alaska. Alice's loving and positive spirit, hard work ethic and gracious manner will be remembered. We will cherish and be inspired by sweet memories.
