Susan Elizabeth Williams married William Rule April 1, 1855. This union produced ten children, two of whom died in infancy. The other children are H.L. Rule, M.C. Rule and E.S. Rule of Sharon, KS; O.W. Rule, Blessings, TX; Susan Roderick, Attica, KS; Amanda Whittaker, Woods County, OK; Mattie M. Jones and Burnette Fair, Medicine Lodge, KS. Mr. and Mrs. Rule removed from Tennessee to Rondo, Missouri, in 1860. In the early 80's they came to Kansas, locating temporarily at Medicine Lodge, then to Meade County for five years then returning to Missouri but remained only a few years. On April 1, 1889 they came to Sharon. They retired from farming November 1, 1906 and moved to Medicine Lodge. Mrs. Rule was one of those grand, Christian ladies whose noble deeds on earth words can not measure and humanity can not estimate.
