Nicholas M. Gibson of 112 Clarence
St., retired railway postal
worker, died early yesterday at
the Mountain Clinic in Olenn where
he had been for seven weeks. He
was 61.
Mr. Gibson joined the postal service
in 1929 and worked as a railway
mail clerk at the Pennsylvania
Railroad Station in New York City.
When he retired two months ago,
he was a foreman at that station.
A native of Butler, Mr. Gibson
was born June 22, 1893. He moved
to Bradford in 1919 and became an
assistant foreman for the Bradford
Laundry. He was married in Bradford
in May, 1923, to Anna Haley.
He was a member of the Evangelical
United Brethren Church, and
Railway Mall Carriers Association.
Survivors, besides his wife are a
son, Martin N., of Butler; two
daughters, Mrs. J. McAlpine and
Mrs. Joseph Murphy, both of Butler;
two brothers. Homer L. of
Butler, and T. R. of Fredonia, Pa.;
eight grandchildren; and nieces
and nephews.
Friends are being received at the
Clarence St. address where a service
will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Monday by the Rev. Burdette Mason,
pastor of the Olean Church of
the Nazarene. Burial will be In
Oak Hill Cemetery. The Healy Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
