Tayko K. Ando, age 90, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006, in Boerne, Texas. Born in San Benito, Texas, on November 27, 1915, she was the daughter of Tanjiro and Blaza Kawamura. An Elementary School Teacher for 31 years, Tayko taught in the Houston area before moving to Boerne to be near her family. Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Akira Roy Ando; Brothers, Toyo, and Mutsuo Kawamura; Sisters, Fumi Kurachi, and Kaye Tazawa, Tayko is survived by her Daughter; Royce Jane Uyechi of Boerne; Son, Robert Keith Ando of Kaufman; Grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel, and Dennis Uyechi, Cory and Ashley Ando; Sisters, Tomi Kennedy, Yuri Tanamachi, and June Sasaki.Visitation will be held at Vaughan's Funeral Home, Monday, February 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Boerne, with Tony Nowak officiating. Burial followed in the Boerne Cemetery.
