Ralph Joseph Trosclair Jr., 73, a native of Bourg and resident of Pointe-aux-Chenes, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.


Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, with a military service at 10 a.m. Religious services will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home.


He is survived by his companion, Barbara Scott; son, Thomas Trosclair and wife, Cheryl; stepsons, Will and Eric Schober; daughters, Marcia T. Ellender and husband, "Bud" Jr., and Melissa T. Rogers and husband, Artie; stepdaughters, Sharon Chatagnier, Margie Bourdier, Helen Blanchard and Beth Sisk; brothers, Jerry Trosclair, and Druby Trosclair and wife, Kay; sisters, Mary Ellen Breaux and Odessa "Tootie" Blanchard; and seven grandchildren, Kami Trosclair, Benjamin Harris, Tonya Thibodeaux, Eugenie Ellender, Jeremy Westerman, Connor Trosclair, Mac Rogers and Skylar Trosclair; four great-grandchildren, Kali, India, Isabella, and Zayden; and nine step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kron Trosclair; parents, Ralph Joseph Sr. and Natalie Vivian Domangue Trosclair; and brother, Michael Trosclair.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a past Boy Scout Leader, past member of Unity Lodge 267 (twice), member of American Legion, Honorary member of Walter I. Lanier 307, 32nd degree York Right Mason, member of the Shriner of Jeruselum Temple, past Houma Shriner Club Capt. of the clown unit, member of Silvercreek Lodge 472- Silvercreek, Miss., and member of the Veteran Legion of America. He was retired from Tenneco. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, gardening and scenic trips.


Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
