GREENFIELD – Shirley G. (Duff) Lewis, age 71, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on January 29, 1941 in Floyd County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ira and Nancy (Combs) Duff. She married Michael Roger Lewis on April 19, 1965.
Shirley was a homemaker and attended Greenfield Church of God. She enjoyed watching golf, NBA and was a Pacers fan. She loved traveling, quilting and playing with her great-grandson. Shirley was the neighborhood mamaw, she was a loving and caring person to all her family and friends.
Surviving her are her children, Rita (Chris) Peper and Michael R. Lewis, Jr. both of Greenfield; siblings, Christine Scott, Arlene Mize, and Enoch Duff all of Greenfield, Martha Roberts of Kentucky, Mageline Hughes of Michigan, and Dewey Duff of Michigan City, Indiana; five grandchildren, Anthony (Brittany) White of Indianapolis, Joseph (Jill) White of Chicago, Illinois, Andrew Phillips, Joshua (Kassie Stewart) Miller, and Jeremiah Humphrey all of Greenfield; and one great-grandchild, Anthony James White. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ira and Nancy Duff; husband, Michael Lewis; daughters, Sheila Phillips and Regina Humphrey; nine brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 16, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m. also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Family Fund.
