BERT WAGNER

Albert Wagner, 91, of St. Nazianz, died Tuesday afternoon at home.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Christianson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. Gregory Putzer will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wagner was born Jan. 29, 1879, in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, son of the late John and Matilda Kuhn Wagner. He married Mary Gries June 14, 1904, at Osmond. The couple farmed in the Town of Livery until 1945, retiring and moving to St. Nazianz to reside.
Mr. Wagner served 23 years on school board at St. Nazianz and was also a county and town board member for many years. He served 12 years as a church trustee, and was a member of the Catholic Knights and the Holy Name Society of St. Gregory Church.

Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Ted of Rt. 1, Newton, Herbert of Rt. 1, Valders, Henry of Rt. 1, Kiel, Francis and Walter of Kiel, Clarence of Rt. 1, Valders and John of Reedsville; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Bondex of Milwaukee; a brother, Frank of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Meyer, Mrs. Anton Neilitz and Mrs. George Adelman, of Manitowoc; 43 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. A son and a daughter preceded him in death.
