MARLINTON - James Carl Davis, 48, was dead on arrival at a doctor's office in Marlinton, Pocahontas County, after suffering an apparent heart attack while camping. He was manager of Reed's department store in Clay, a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church of Clay.
Surviving: wife, Doris Hoffman Davis; daughters, Carla Cogar of Stewart Draft, Va. and Miss Carolyn Davis of Charleston; brothers, Garrett of Clay, Glen of Summersville. Jack of Elyria, O., and Harry of Scott Depot; sisters, Mrs. Wanita Childers of Massillon, O., Mrs. Helen Keeling of Nitro, and Mrs. Joan Hunt of Pliny, father, John E. Davis of Clay.
Service will be 2 p.m. today in Clay First Baptist church with Rev. Cecil L. Butcher officiating. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery on Blue Knob, Clay County. Wilson Funeral Home in Clay is in charge of arrangements.
