DECATUR — George William "Bill" Grandon, 74, of Decatur, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M., Monday, February 28 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Masonic services immediately following. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital.
Bill was born November 8, 1930 in Harristown, IL. He was the son of Jesse and Ruth (Turner) Grandon. He married Ann E. Rauch on December 17, 1949.
Bill worked for Mueller Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Summit Lodge #431 of Warrensburg, Ansar Oriental Band, Decatur Shrine Club, Ansar Shrine, Sons of the American Legion, Pana Moose Lodge #1015. Bill was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini fan.
He is survived by his wife, sons; William Grandon and wife Karen of Atlanta, IL, Steven Grandon of Decatur, IL., daughters; Virginia Grandon of Decatur, IL., Kathy Dickerson and husband Bill of Argenta, IL., grandchildren; William Grandon Jr. of Decatur, IL., Jamie Gipson of Decatur, IL., Jonathan Dickerson of Argenta, IL., Carmen Dennison of Bloomington, IL., Tiffany and David Sloan of Bloomington, IL., great granddaughters; Alexis Gipson of Decatur, IL., Annabel Dennison of Bloomington, IL., brothers; Jerry Grandon and wife Wenona of Warrrensburg, IL., Jim Grandon and wife Joan of Decatur, IL., Mike Grandon and wife Jean of Decatur, IL., sister; Nancy Duffer and husband Sid of Decatur, IL., uncle; George Turner of Decatur, IL. He also leaves his pet and best friend Suzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
