Virginia M. Musselman, 86, of Galion, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab, Galion. She had been seriously ill since July.

Virginia was born in Steubenville on November 26, 1925 to the late Kenton A. and Ruth G. (Monat) Herr. She married C. Byron "Barney" Musselman on June 9, 1946 and he survives her.

Virginia's family moved shortly after her birth to Galion, and she lived the rest of her life in Galion. Virginia was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Galion. She was a bookkeeper for the former J.C. Penney store in Galion. She retired in 1992 after 30 years of service, earning her a Penney's Gold Card. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Galion. Her family was an important part of her life. She was a true homemaker, cooking, sewing, and raising her family. Her life's avocation was to be a wife to her husband, Barney. She and Barney dated in their Senior year of high school and went on to be married for 66 years. Virginia was a graduate of Galion High School, class of 1943. She played cards, especially Pinochle with her card club for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Calvin B. "Barney" Musselman and Phyllis McPhern of Mansfield, and Kenton and Martha Musselman of Thomasville, NC; her four grandchildren, Charles Musselman, Angela and David Brocwell, Jamie and Dane Young, and Kelsey and Adam Carroll; and her four great-grandchildren, Jessica Brocwell, Abigail Brocwell, Stone Musselman, and Preston Young.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Lucas and Margery Baer.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church, Galion, with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
