Peter Geigel, 80, retired Kiel tavern keeper, who had made his home
in Manitowoc for 25 years, died today at Holy Family hospital following
a short illness.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer funeral home
and at 10 o'clock at St. Boniface Catholic church with the Rev. Alfred
Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Clarks Mills.
Born on the farm of his parents near Clarks Mills in 1870, Mr. Geigel
operated the farm as a young man, later selling it and going into the
tavern business at St. Nazianz. He later operated taverns in Plymouth
and Kiel, spending most of his life in the latter city.
In 1902 he married the former Elizabeth Eingenberger, who died in 1942.
Prior to his death Mr. Geigel had been living at the Elm Terrace home
here. He was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Surviving are three sons, Albin and Arthur of Manitowoc and Raymond
of Green Bay.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday. The rosary
will be recited there at 7 o'clock Sunday evening.
