OAK HILL, FL.—Mrs. Alie Florence Day Harman, 89, of Oak Hill, passed away June 28, 1998 at a Tazewell hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 26, 1906 in Dearing, was a widow of the late Steward Frank Harman. She was the daughter of the late Joshua and Elizabeth Brewster Day, both Virginia natives.
She was a homemaker and a housewife. She was a member of the Skygusty Church of Christ, and had lived in Skygusty for 65 years before retiring to Tannersville, Va. She was an active member of the Tannersville RSVP where she enjoyed volunteering.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by five sisters, three brothers and one grandson.
Survivors include one son, Mrs. Joshua Harman and wife Carole of Safety Harbor, Fl. ; three daughters, Mrs. Frances McBride of Skygusty, Mrs. Arlene Keene and Mrs. Thelma Kelly both of Oak Hill; one sister Sally Myers of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Hurst Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, with the Rev. Bruce Hoogerwerf officiating.
Burial will follow at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Skygusty.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
The family may receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
