Well-known baker & farmer in the New Brunswick/Piscataway (Stelton); also well-known for shooting prowess and hunting. Originally resided in New York City before following his brother Ludwig (Louis) to New Brunswick. John Belloff had a large family; several of his children became prominent in local commerce and/or the veterinary profession and/or local affairs.

John Belloff died unexpectedly (and instantly) after accidentally driving his farm wagon in front of an express train while returning from New Brunswick to his farm in Stelton. His view of the faster express train was apparently blocked by a slower-moving train that passed moments earlier.
